The medals for the 100 Mile Challenge have shipped! I am so excited to see them. I will hang them at the studio, and post pictures so you remember your reason for walking each mile. We're already at day 22!!
I love hearing the feedback, it reminds me of when I did this challenge before. I learned so much about motivation by walking a mile every day. My biggest lesson:
You don't wait for motivation to come, you create motivation by walking. It's the doing that creates motivation!
To me, that means I don't have to wait for some magic to happen to me before I can feel motivated. Whether I am motivated or not is on me. I am the one who creates it. Talk about radical responsibility!
Speaking of doing, I've completed eleven half marathons this year. One to go. I can't wait to tell you about this experience. Talk about learning a lot. WOW! All I will tell you for now is I am so ready to be done, and if it weren't for putting this goal out there, there is no way I would do another one. But I made a goal, and I've learned that goals are important little promises to myself. When I keep them, I feel just a little better about me.
Don't take them lightly. Be intentional. There is nothing more destructive to our self-esteem than a bunch of goals unkept. If you commit to something, do it. Not for the workout itself, but to develop that muscle. You know the one. The one where you know what to do...and you do it. Now that's real strength.
