So many of us struggle with feeling good enough. We are weighed down by guilt and shame, and we spend a lot of time trying to perform our way to worthiness.
Or diet our way to worthiness.
Or exercise our way to worthiness.
Or care-give our way to worthiness.
Or accumulate our way to worthiness.
My friend, you were born worthy.
You and I were born worthy of love, compassion, grace, belonging and acceptance. Each and every one of us.
The human story, however, is that we do things or have things done and said to us, that make us doubt our worth. We start losing that divine confidence in who we are. We start buying into the world's view of success, and leave our hearts behind.
The way to the authentic life is not to go searching for ourselves OUT THERE. It is not out there. It is in here (hold hand gently over your heart).
No diet will ever reclaim our worth.
No amount of exercise will ever convince us we're good enough.
No amount of service will allow us to perform our way back to worthiness.
No material possession or status can buy it back.
We are already enough. Our work is to claim it.
If someone important to you operated in a way as to convince you that you were never, ever good enough, I need you to surrender your victim stance and story, and step into your empowerment stance and story. Both exist within you at all times. You are choosing one or the other every day.
As you make it a daily practice to do the work, surrender your victim story, and take up your empowerment, you will begin to heal. The narrative that gets triggered in your head will not have the power it used to, and you will see it for what it is: Fear and Lies.
You are already completely worthy of everything good in this life, because of grace and forgiveness. You are already good enough, because you were created that way. Your job is to stay rooted in your worth, and walk it out. Shine your light! Then help others to see this glorious light in themselves. If we shine bright enough, I believe we can change the world.
