We are over half way through December. I know it's tough. I know there is food everywhere. But you can do this.
Listen. I want you ready for what's coming in January. Every quick fix product and service you've ever heard of will be advertised. Every magazine cover will scream about 100 ways to lose ten pounds this week! Every other commercial will be Jenny Craig or WW. Fitness equipment will go on sale everywhere.
None of these things are the answer. I am not the answer. Diets are not the answer. Equipment is not the answer. There is only one answer to how to get fit. Get right with food and exercise.
Everything that pulls your attention away from that simple truth is just adding to the amount of time it will take you to get right with food and exercise.
No diet can do it for you. You have to learn to make healthy choices in all circumstances.
No piece of equipment can do it for you. You have to learn to choose daily exercise and fitness equipment does not come built in with radical responsibility. That part is up to you.
No gym can do it for you. You are the one that decides to go or not.
No trainer can do it for you. You have to want to change so badly that you decide to let nothing stand in your way.
I want you set for the lies. They are coming.
I want you armed with the truth. You can do this!
The way to be set and armed is to stay on track. If you get off track and start feeling crappy about yourself, you're vulnerable. Vulnerable to the lies. Vulnerable to the old quick fix way of being.
But you aren't like that anymore. You know better. You've learned this one.
Even if the first 17 days of December have been off the rails for you, stop and turn around. Don't buy into the lie by telling yourself you'll focus on your fitness when January comes. Do it now. Today is much more important than a day in January. Today matters.
If you need to mark a turning point, do it today. Repeat after me. I forgive myself for not taking care of myself lately. I let go of the past and make a new commitment. Starting today, I will honor myself by making good choices when it comes to food and exercise. I will take radical responsibility for my choices and keep moving forward. I will do this with the intention of being strong and ready to start a new year without feeling like I somehow have to improve myself or become good enough. I am already good enough.
How cool to start 2013 like that. Now get moving!
