- expressing possibility.
"that may be true"
- expressing permission.
"you may use a sling if you wish"
Oh, the month of May. Full of possibility.
I am often asked if January is our busiest month at Clear Rock. It is not. We're not the typical gym. In January, our dedicated clients are continuing their workout schedules like they have been for years. Most of our clients have been with us five years or longer. Some, like Cindy and Amy, have been with me for twelve+ years. It is more than a service, it is aremarkable relationship.
So, no, January is not that big of a deal around here. May, however, is. May is the month that we meet the most new clients. May is full of possibility and permission. "Yes I can", and "Yes, I can!"
I know how crazy this month can be. Graduations, weddings, upcoming vacations, reunions, retirement, finishing up the kids' activities, breaking out the summer wardrobe...all can be triggers for feeling off-center, under-confident, and neglected.
Our routines have gone to hell, and it doesn't feel like there's time to work out, prepare healthy food, walk, or anything else. We're slammed. Add to that shorts or summer slacks that are too tight in the waist, and that critical voice can act up.
I mean, who wants to spend yet another summer not feeling fit enough, thin enough, good enough!
Here's what I know. One good workout and you feel a little better. Every single workout makes a difference. String a few of them together, and you start to not only feel tighter and stronger, but you start to see the critical voice more clearly. Remember, we're not to take direction from that voice, we're to send acceptance where there's fear. Then we're to see ourselves through the eyes of love.
Seeing ourselves through those eyes will always lead us to our best choices, and our best life. We can't bully ourselves into health and fitness from the place in us that's wounded, self-critical or self-destructive. Rise up! Get back up!
Remember what's possible, and give yourself permission to go after it. The craziness of May will wind down, and when it does, you can be one of those women who will be knocking out amazing workouts next January, and the one after that, and the one after that. But do it from a place of already-good-enough. Make it a gift you give yourself, allowing your health and beauty to shine.
May it change you for good.
May it bring light to your life.
May it always be rooted in love.
